Idea

Support for private social work with children and adolescents in countries with high poverty levels.

Children in need – there is no end to the news of affliction and misery reaching us from all over the world. The McKinsey for Children e.V. charity was set up to help at least some of these children enjoy a better life by giving them a sheltered childhood and guiding them along the path to adulthood. One important contribution to meeting this goal is providing support for school education and vocational training to improve the children's future prospects.

McKinsey for Children supports various social projects for children and young people in different countries over longer periods, but always for at least three years. The projects selected by McKinsey for Children receive both financial assistance and professional advice.

McKinsey for Children sends teams to the locations in question to choose the projects and get an overview of the situation. The selection criteria include the poverty level in the countries concerned, a sound and legitimate project concept, a dependable project organization as a guarantee for success, low administrative expenses, and a high cost effectiveness of the funds allocated.

The McKinsey for Children organization is a purely voluntary charity and its administrative costs are negligible. This means that projects benefit almost entirely from donations.

McKinsey for Children is financed by sponsorships and other donations from individuals: core funding comes from McKinsey employees, alumni, friends, and family.
